Paul Crawford Award Winner 2014: Rick Cole
The Congress for the New Urbanism California Chapter would like to congratulation Mr. Rick Cole on being awarded our 2014 CNU California Paul Crawford Award. We truly admire his dedication and results in making better places for the citizens of California as this award is intended to honor his work and we look forward to what he will accomplish leading Los Angeles into the 21st century.
Rick Cole, City of Los Angeles Deputy Mayor for Budget and Innovation, is being recognized by our Chapter for his extraordinary achievements and outstanding leadership in the cities of Asuza, Pasadena, Ventura, and now Los Angeles. His administrative and political leadership has resulted in the enabling of Form-Based Codes at the policy and regulatory level, the building world-class Transit-Oriented Development projects, revitalization of beautiful downtowns, and innovation in city building techniques that build a more sustainable future. Mr. Cole was unanimously selected by the CNU California board of directors due to his leadership and commitment to the principals outlined in the Charter for the New Urbanism and the promise that is California. Mr. Cole’s selection follows our inaugural CNU California Paul Crawford Award winners, Stefanos Polyzoides and Elizabeth Moule.
The award was presented on November 8th, 2014, at the New Urban Film Fest held at the ACME Theater in Hollywood.
