Partners in Planning; Community Events & Tactical Urbanism
In this interview, City of Colton Senior Planner and Congress for the New Urbanism Board of Director member Mario Suarez AICP CNUa promotes the 3rd annual Museum Day in the City of Colton. Mario details how the City of Colton is planning for the 3rd annual Museum day and holding a demonstration on the H Street improvements. Including a walking tour of improvements using Tactical Urbanism techniques of short-term action to meet long-term goals as part of the City of Colton’s downtown plan. The Downtown plan’s vision is to update the public space around H Street, update the zoning code and bring in revitalization efforts.
The City of Colton is hoping the demonstration of Tactical Urbanism will help members of the community experience how the public space can be designed in a way that is collaborative and inviting to work, live and play!
