CNU 27 Louisville – Chapter Meet Up
I’d like to remind everyone of the two-big chapter driven events at CNU 27 Louisville.
Both are Friday, June 14; the evening event is the Chapter Meet Up, an all-chapter event where we will have the full run of the space behind the preserved cast iron façade of 615 West Main Street. Expect food tucks, drinks and likely a picnic table “home” for each chapter. The all-chapter meetup in Savannah was well attended, but it helped that a plenary just broke and we were right at the exit. This time, chapter folk will have to walk a few blocks from breakouts all over downtown. Please make sure all your members, anyone on your mailing list, and anyone you meet at the Congress know about the event. We have the space at 6 p.m., and it will likely start around 6:30 p.m.
In preparation for the event, please have a hi-res image of your chapter logo for when we have specs for the picnic table signs. Also consider bringing or shipping ahead any chapter brochures you want to have at your table, or, really, anything you want to have as giveaways. Even regional treats, if you can find a way to ship them to Louisville.
We at CNU New York have always given out invitation tickets to our meet-up; tell me if you’d like to pass out tickets as you attend plenaries and breakouts.
The other event, earlier on Friday June 14 at 12:30 p.m. is the Chapter Member-Led session. As much as the meetup is to drive members to be more active in their chapters through a party, this is a casual business meeting designed to bring in new chapter activists by discussing how we can empower chapters to serve their regions and provide the ground game for CNU National. This will be most successful if we pull in people who want to get involved in their chapters, or, at least, want to know that their chapter welcomes them. In addition to discussing empowerment, there is time for several chapters to do a pecha-kucha sized powerpoint on something they are proud of. I know that CNU Midwest will present; please tell me which other chapters would like to speak.
That’s all for now. All this applies to chapter organizing committees, chapters in formation, and any recognized interest group. I hope that several of you will volunteer to speak at the member-led session, and definitely find your high-res logo. Or else you’ll end up with a boring generic logo.
